Earlier in the year, it was confirmed that Amorphis went into the studio to work on recording their 15th studio album. Today, the progressive melodic death metal group announced they will release Borderlands on September 26th through Reigning Phoenix Records with THE first single “Light and Shadow” set to drop on June 6th.
Guitarist Esa Holopainen went on Social media to say:
Borderland is the first Amorphis album produced in collaboration with Danish producer Jacob Hansen. Before that, we had made three amazing records at Jens Bogren’s studio. During the planning phase of the project, we strongly felt that it was time to explore something new and see what working with a different producer might bring to the table!
